BriefMD

About

Built by a clinician in training.

I'm a medical student at NYU Grossman, finishing an MD and a master's in clinical investigation. Most of my research is in HPB surgical oncology, especially pancreatic cysts, which means a lot of reading.

Years of clinical research taught me that finding new studies isn't the hard part. Knowing which of the day's papers actually matter is. On rotations, that sorting was the first thing to go.

BriefMD is the email I wanted every morning: the new work in my field, with the strongest evidence first. I had never written code before I started building it. I still read every reply, so if a summary misses or your specialty needs something we don't do yet, tell me.

How we stay useful

How we pick papers

Only what you follow
Pick specific topics inside your specialty, or add your own, like a drug, a procedure or a trial name. Papers outside them stay out of your brief.
The journals you already read
Follow up to five journals and their new papers show up in your brief, in their own section.
Changes with your schedule
Add or drop topics, or switch between daily, twice a week and weekly, whenever your rotation changes.
Clear about what it is
Summaries are written by AI from abstracts, and I'm responsible for the standards they follow. Read the editorial policy and medical disclaimer.
Built on your feedback
Every brief asks if it was useful, and replies come straight to me. That's how the topics and picks get better.
